If a case is ever filed against your company, you will be instructed by the court to place certain types of files on hold to ensure that any evidence that can be used for or against you is not destroyed while litigation is underway.

To get to the holds list, you go to Site settings,…scroll down and click Holds.…You can create a new item,…and you'll use whatever case number…or naming convention you have in your company.…Probably good to give it a description.…And you'll assign a person in the organization…to manage it, click Save.…Because the holds list is a separate container,…you can secure it differently by going…into the List settings and changing…the permissions for this list.…
