- [Instructor] Office 365 has a suite of interconnection tools to help improve collaboration and communication. While SharePoint is one of those core collaboration tools, there's another tool that you might want to consider using alongside SharePoint. Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration tool that was released in 2017. Teams has two main functions. It's a replacement for Skype with it's one-to-one, group chat and screen sharing capabilities. And it's also a collaboration tool. Teams are connected to Office 365 Groups which means when you create a team, you get all of the underlying Group functionality like your SharePoint site, Planner plan and more. You can access Teams via the desktop app or the phone app or the browser. If I click join or create team here, you'll notice that I have two options: one, to create a team from scratch, or two, to create from an existing Office 365 Group.
