- We're going to move on to some security related topics now. The first I want to address is the idea of sharing your SharePoint site with external audiences. Now there are a number of different reasons why you might want non-employees to see your sites. First of all, you may have used SharePoint to build your company's internet site. That's not as prevalent as it's been in the past. But it's still a possible solution for your company's online presence. It won't do you any good to have a site that no one can see outside of your own people. Now more typically probably you're working with external consultants, customers, vendors, sometimes strong partners and you want to be able to share some stuff with them easily. Now there's a layered approach that you need to take here. And you have a lot of options about how to go about it.
