- [Instructor] A lot of the changes that Microsoft has made to SharePoint over the years have been directed at providing more ways for users to connect and collaborate. Microsoft is a huge believer in this, and one of the first big companies to make enterprise social products available. Yammer was originally started in 2008, and Microsoft acquired it and started incorporating it into Office in 2012. In my mind, Yammer is still one of the better enterprise social platforms, and it's still one of the most widely used. However, Microsoft continues to innovate and they continue to change things up. Their newest social tool is Teams, which builds off of modern O365 groups. It has some very similar functionality as Yammer in terms of chat, but it also includes access to a Team OneDrive folder, which is really a SharePoint library, and Planner and some other goodies like video calling.
