- [Instructor] There's something we need to have a brief discussion about. Trust and apps. You remember how when we were installing the app in SharePoint as if we trusted it? And I said yes because I wanted to show you how it worked. But you might want to be a little bit more cautious. The thing about apps is that you don't always know how much of your data is shared to make the app work. And where is that data being shared while it's in process? Now, some apps are fully installed in the tenant. But others process via Cloud Hosting. Which means that for at least a short while, your data could be out in the Cloud. What kind of security protections has the app developer implemented? I hate to admit this. But not everyone is completely trustworthy. There have been cases of apps that have malware or spying features included. Not very many, for sure. Microsoft is very good at barring things before they allow them onto the store.
