Clearer new site goals

- [Instructor] Let's start looking directly at the two experiences. These are two fairly brand new team sites. One in the modern experience, and one in the classic. On the classic site there isn't a whole lot of guidance about how you go about setting up your site. Sure, there are these promoted links here, ostensibly giving you steps to follow. But aside from the fact that they don't actually provide a ton of information, they immediately lose credibility because of the suggested order. Share your site is first before doing any other setup. Now, that's just plain wrong. There's also a link to an empty news feed, with a suggestion to invite people to start a conversation. But you'll have to go follow some links to find out more about how to do these things. And you've got a view of a document library. Well, let's compare this to a modern site. There's this news area front and center on the modern site, with a much better explanation of what's going on. And clearer controls for editing it as well. A site document library is still accessible from the home page, but there's also a quick link area, which could be very helpful. There's also this activity area, which is really a nice touch. In this space you can see recent site events. You can add something like this in the classic experience, but it's not a stock feature. There's also a next steps link, which opens additional links to add team members, share documents and create news posts. And one final touch, you can tell from the home page whether the site is public or private.
