Managed Service Accounts

- Many network based programs use an account to run services or provide authentication. They may use a local account like the local service, network service, or local system account, but those provide a variety of challenges including the fact that they're used by multiple programs and services and they can't be managed at the domain level. Alternatively, it's very common that a program might use a standard domain account but that provides a bunch of additional challenges including security related challenges. That's where managed service accounts comes into play. A managed service account is an active directory domain services object class that enables simplified password and service principal name management for service accounts.
