- [Voiceover] An interesting type of record that is fairly badly defined is the TXT resource record. I say badly defined, not because it's actually badly defined, but because it doesn't have a specific job to do. It's more of a generalist kind of resource record. It creates a space for a DNS administrator to communicate with entities outside of its domain. So you'll see TXT records used for all sorts of things, from the Cinder policy framework files that we're going to talk about in another video here to come to things like domain verification services that are used by Google and others. So a TXT file doesn't have to be a specific format. You can put virtually anything in there. All you need to do to create one, so the way this works is you press the Plus button right here, you add TXT as the label right there or the type. There's no priority, no record, you just pop your thing of text right in here, and then you would click Save. Once you've hit Save, you're pretty much there. A TXT…
