Next I'd like to talk about DHCP and DNS Registration.…When we configure DNS registration…it basically means that when DHCP leases…an address to a client, it can also register…the computer's address to the DNS server.…When the DNS registration is configured…it ensures that the address is configured…in the DNS zone match the IP addresses…leased by the DHCP server.…This DNS registration can be configured…on both the server or the scope level.…
And when we go to configure on the server level…we need to configure at the IPv4 or IPv6 servers.…Under the DNS registration we have a couple of options.…The first option is enable updates…according to settings below.…What this option does is it enables…or allows DHCP to update only DNS records…when requested by a client.…This is the default setting for DNS registration.…Along with this setting it also has the option…to allow dynamically updated DNS records…each time the DHCP leases addresses.…
The next setting is discard A and PTR records…when lease is deleted.…This is enabled by default and what it does…
