Join Rick Schmunk for an in-depth discussion in this video Wavetable warping, part of Learning Serum.
- [Instructor] Waveform warping…is another one of Serum's innovative features…and it allows you to manipulate the selected waveform.…There are several methods available,…so let's take a look at how warping works…and discuss some of the modes.…I've got Serum loaded on a track…and I've got the default preset up.…If you need to do that with your version of Serum…you can go up to the menu here and choose Init Preset.…The warp amount is controlled by this knob…that's in the middle of the bottom row…of the oscillator settings.…
But before I can do that, I actually need to choose…a warp mode.…And we can do that by clicking on the word Off here…and that will reveal the hidden pop-up menu.…And I'm just going to choose the first option here,…Sync (No Window).…Oscillator sync occurs when the oscillator…is forced to restart the waveform…in the middle of its cycle.…And this can result in strong secondary frequencies.…So check it out as I hold a note down…and I increase the warp amount.…(buzzing tone)…(changes into more aggressive tone)…
