Learn how to use the chroma key filter to remove a green screen from live action footage and create a composite video where you float over the content. Plus, learn to leverage the chroma key filter to add custom motion graphics that seamlessly appear in your video
- [Instructor] There is one video filter…that literally stands alone.…That's the chroma key filter.…It's used for compositing green screen footage…with other content.…If you're following along,…I'm in the chroma key project,…where I have a short clip of footage…that was shot in from of my green screen.…Now the process of identifying a specific color or a chroma…and then removing that color…or perhaps more accurately,…rendering those pixels transparent,…is called pulling a chroma key,…or pulling a key for short.…The specific color that you use as your background…doesn't really matter as long as the color…is fairly uniform in intensity,…and generally doesn't appear in the other parts of the clip…that you want to keep.…
The bright green color…that has become commonly called chroma green…is used for two main reasons.…First this intense bright green…is not commonly found in most settings or clothing.…Secondly, modern digital cameras…are especially sensitive to the color green…due to the arrangement of color receptors…on the camera's chips.…
