The output pins on the Raspberry Pi GPIO can be controlled using the scratch programming language, and in this video, Mark Niemann-Ross builds a very simple circuit with an LED, then discusses the scratch program used to turn it on and off. The scratch program uses the BCM mode to address the GPIO pins.
