Scratch 3.0 on mobile devices
- [Instructor] One of the most advertised features and one that most developers were looking forward to is that Scratch 3.0 can now run on mobile devices. This was a high-demand request and it is exciting to see it now available. Here is a demonstration of Scratch 3.0 on a cellphone where I am on the Scratch website. To make Scratch 3.0 work on touch devices such as Chromebooks, Windows Surface laptops and tablets, it is now much easier to drag and drop as well as tap the blocks using the touch screen. For example, dragging, moving it around like this, clicking the green flag is much easier than it used to be before. This is an advantage when training beginning programmers and people who are intimidated by computers and coding. A technical insight, Scratch 3.0 development team no longer uses Adobe Flash and instead uses HTML 5.0.
