Targets or cloud-to-cloud

- [Instructor] There are two main methods we can use for registering our data. The first we'll discuss are targets. Targets are something we would place in the field that would be common between multiple scans, like checkerboards, spheres, or markers. That may require us to carry or ship extra equipment. With targets we're able to more easily verify the accuracy of our scan data, since they are known marked points. This does make the field process slower, but may be necessary to complete the project to your standards. The benefit of using targets in the field is that the office process is much quicker. The other method is cloud to cloud. This is where we won't necessarily use targets at all. Even though we're taking more scans, the field process is still quicker, since we don't have to set up targets for every scan. This will mean that our office process will be slower because we'll have more data to process, and likely our ending data set will be larger.
