- [Instructor] Successful scan projects come from having a very detailed and well thought out plan. The first thought is our area or object of interest. Are we indoors or outdoors, is it a small object or a large object. All of these factors will greatly affect the way you carry out your scanning plan. Weather conditions must be taken into consideration, as it's not ideal to scan in a high moisture area or during rain. The newest versions of the scanners are IP54 rated, so they are more protected, but it's still not ideal. One of the benefits of laser scanning is that you can reach places more easily and safely. But there still may be some access limitations that impact the way that you carry our your scan plan. Ultimately, what information are you trying to get in display and share with others. This too will change a considerable amount about how you capture the data and process the data.
