- [Instructor] In the examples we've seen so far, we've worked with a small number of scans, so this isn't hard to manage, but imagine if you had a project that had a thousand scans or more. It'd be very difficult if you didn't have notes in their locations in the field, at least some kind of idea on how to group them, so that you can complete registration. A successful office process will require decent note-taking skills in the field. The next option we have, due to the latest development from FARO, is the ability to register these scans as we're moving through the building. This drastically decreases the amount of time required in the registration process. Effectively, as you're moving the scanner through the building, the software on the laptop is building a low-resolution map, which will then place those scans in Scene in a rough position, and then you can refine your registration.
