- [Mike] Okay, previously we walked through the process of creating a custom object and now we want to start populating this custom object with some new fields. So you notice that first of all we had a few standard fields that came along for the ride when we created this new custom object. These are ones that I did not create individually, but were system created and automatically placed in the new custom object when we created it. Such as the Created By field, which is a Lookup field, a Data Type of Lookup to the User object. And that will tell you that it was created by this user, Mike Wheeler, myself, and the date and time. And then the Name field is a standard field and you'll have a Name field on every type of object you create and you can just call it Name. And this is in the previous lecture where we have the option of doing auto numbering for the name or doing a Text Data Type here.
