Instructor-led training - Salesforce Tutorial

- [Narrator] So let's talk a little about instructor-led training, the benefits and what this might add to the cost of your Salesforce certified administrator education. Now please allow me to emphasize that there are no prerequisites required in order to become a Salesforce certified administrator. Salesforce is a for-profit publicly traded company with the responsibility to their shareholders so they promote all their products such as their instructor-led training classes. Now please don't become discouraged when you learn what these cost. They are in my humble opinion expensive. You may find value with instructor-led education so I will share what's available from Salesforce. Let's head over to the certification portal. You'll find this at certification.salesforce.com which is the Salesforce certified administration landing page. So from here, we'll over hover Credentials and we'll click on Administrators. Now on the next page, scroll down just a little bit and click See Details on the left-hand column. Scroll down a little further and you'll see a section called About the Exam. Now Salesforce recommends four instructor-led training classes. I'm going to go ahead and open them up in new tabs so I can show them to you. First one is called ADM 201. This is Administration Essentials For New Admins. So let's right-click on the mouse and open a new tab. And this page provides a description of the course and it gives you a link to register so we'll go ahead and click on Register Now and it will take us to the next page. From here, you can get a description of the class and it tells how long it is which is five days and it shows you the cost in different cities. You'll see all the different cities and how much the prices are. Now let's go ahead and close this tab and we'll go over to ADM 201C. Now this link brings us to the course called Administration Essentials For New Administrators And Certification. It gives a description of the course which is also five days and over here you can register for the course as well. There's a description and it provides information on the cost, and where you can take the classes. Over here is CRT 101, let's go ahead and take a peek at that. And we can see the cost and where it can be taken as well. And finally, there's a course called ADX 201. And this course focuses on the lightning experience for administrators and this course, you can go ahead and read the description and you can click here to register for it as well. And just like with the other three, you'll see the cost and where you can take the course. Now if you take all of the instructor-led courses recommended by Salesforce, the time commitment would involve weeks of classes and the total cost of the courses would set you back over $26,000. Now that's a lot of money. If your company offers to cover the cost of instructor-led training, it's a wonderful option and it will bolster your understanding of Salesforce administration. All instructor-led training courses involve a live teacher. However, some are offered in person while other training is offered online. You'll discover those options when you're looking at the different pages and you can see here in this page that you'll see some of them have physical locations and then you'll see others that say virtual delivery. Now let's head back over to the landing page for certification and just talk about a couple more things. For anyone who has more time than money, everything you need to learn and understand can be found by accessing free resources. With the cost of taking the exam being $200 and with unlimited retakes offered at half price, go ahead and consider completing this cert prep course. Go ahead and study the resources I'm recommending and see how you do when you step up to the plate to take the exam. You may find the completion of the exam less daunting than you initially believed. Look, everybody learns differently and if you feel instructor-led training is right for you, please don't allow me to discourage you from using these excellent resources. On the other hand, I'd strongly urge you to consider my recommendations for education here in our online course and to develop a plan that involves the lower cost of self-study. Myself personally, I did the entire certification process without the instructor-led training.
