- [Instructor] Reports in Dashboards are one of the most valuable tools provided by Salesforce. Reports are important for sales managers because you want to know how your reps are performing and you want to be able to share that information with your manager and other executives in the company. Salesforce has already pre-populated the most common reports in the Reports tab. Let's take a look at that now. So you'll see here on the left, there are Account and Contact Reports, Opportunity Reports, Sales Reports, and if you scroll down, you'll see Call Center Reports which may or may not apply to your company. Now let's start by creating a basic Opportunity Report. I'm going to click New Report. Opportunities. And I'll just select Opportunities and hit the Create button. Now you'll see there's already quite a bit of data in here. But I can easily change it, if for example, I don't need to see Type, I can remove that column.
