From the course: Integrate LinkedIn Sales Navigator with Your CRM

Sales Navigator for Dynamics: The basics

- [Instructor] The integration between Linked In Sales Navigator and Microsoft Dynamics for sale has a couple of different components. First we have some applications. Specifically, one application that is displaying information typically used with leads, and the second with information typically used for accounts, or another way to think about this, information for individuals and information from Linked In about companies. And while you will often see these apps embedded on these pages in Dynamics, they can in fact be placed anywhere, so your organization may customize your Dynamics experience by placing the lead app on a contact form as well or elsewhere as we'll see in this course. The second component is CRM sync. And the synchronization is optional, but many organizations use it. Let's talk about how these integration pieces will work for us. The Sales Navigator and Dynamics apps, whether its for leads or for accounts, allow us to search Linked In from Dynamics, they allow us to view Linked In information in Dynamics, and again, your organization may place these information solely on the leads and accounts page, but many will also place it on contacts and opportunities as well. In Dynamics, we'll be able to send In Mail and messages, find lead recommendations, and read account and lead updates, job changes, and news that comes to us from Linked In. CRM sync connects and moves via import or write back information from Dynamics to Sales Navigator and vice versa. The CRM sync, if your organization enables it, imports information from Dynamics to Sales Navigator and that's information about accounts, leads, and contacts. If your company wishes, it can also set up write back from Sales Navigator to Dynamics, writing back In Mails, notes and messages that you would've created in Sales Navigator to the appropriate leads in Dynamics. Now, this happens on a daily basis, it's not instantaneous. However, if you wish, you can have the In Mails, notes, and messages from Sales Navigator appear in Dynamics and you as a user have the ability to choose which In Mails and which notes are going to be synchronized. If you're a Dynamics user, this integration just opened the door to the world's largest professional network of more than a half a billion business professionals. And within Dynamics, you get access to richer information about both accounts and leads. You can validate contacts and accounts without ever leaving Dynamics and you can access all of the information that you need to support social selling quickly and easily without even switching browser windows. Whether you are a Sales Navigator user, a Dynamics user, or both, there's a lot of power in this integration.
