- [Instructor] For this course, you're going to need SQL Server, and you can use any version, and you need 2014 or newer. So, have that installed either on your machine, or a server that you can access. It all works. Then, Adventure Works 2014 DW, which you can download from Microsoft's website, will need to be restored onto your system. That's the database we're going to use to run our queries against and actually do our analysis. And, the tool for that, of course, is SQL Server Management Studio. Those are the only three things you need. They're all free, and you don't need anything other than those pieces to get going.
In terms of skills, there aren't any real prerequisites for this course. In the beginning, we're going to take a look at some things that, if you're more seasoned, they're probably a bit beginner for you. But, if you're newer, these are going to great ways to skill up and actually develop this new talent in SQL. As we get further along in this series, things are going to become a little bit more complex and sophisticated, which is really where a lot of the value's going to come from, answering those complex analytical questions.
