- [Ben] Hi, I'm Ben Sullins, and I've been a data geek for nearly 20 years now, working to extract meaning from data and help organizations improve their decision-making. The most universal way I've experienced is with the database language SQL. In this course, I'm going to share with you answers to the most common data science and analytics questions that you'll receive, such as how to find the top products per category, how to find active employee accounts by month, how to calculate a six week rolling average of sales.
I'll start by showing you how to retrieve data from a database using SQL Server and Adventure Works 2014 data warehouse; then, show you how to aggregate, join, and filter your results to create context for your analysis. We'll see how to answer more complex questions with ranking, moving averages, and window functions. If you find these SQL tips useful, I'd love to hear from you. Let's keep the conversation going online using the hashtag #datainsights. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you back here soon.
