Choosing the right data platform

- [Amataverna] Data privacy, governance, analysis, and storage are important to a business in any industry. And finding an effective way to scale data infrastructure is an important part of a company's growth. Since there's not enough time to cover all of them, I've chosen to focus on Mongo, MySQL, and Postgres. I'll also provide an overview of some cloud-based options such as snowflake, AWS, and GCP. Each data platform is great in its own way. It stores the data differently which is important to understand to find one that is right for you. We'll cover querying the data and how SQL dialects can vary from data platform to data platform. And how they have their own set of unique features to choose from. We'll also look at the business reasons for picking a certain data of platform. While we focus more on data warehouses, we'll look at what these products offer as a data platform as a whole. What does their data lakes, business intelligence, and Gooey tools look like? Hi, my name is Amataverna Lee. I'm a data engineer at Hello Alfred. Responsible for maintaining our data warehouses and making the data accessible and easy to understand for everyone. In this course I'm excited to share with you some of the traditional and newer options for data platforms out there. Let's get started.
