- Let's examine Extended Events. And we're in SQL and I've expanded out the Management folder and I've expanded out Extended Events and if you see down here, I have system_health which is one of those canned Extended Events that is by default turned on. So I'm going to right click it and I'm going to say Watch Live Data. And now we'll wait until the live data comes up, by the way if you're following along, you're doing this on a test SQL server or etcetera, don't become discouraged when you do this that it takes it a while, it is a low priority thread and it will take a bit of time for the live data to actually show up. Its returned some information and now you see here, we can move between the different names of events and here is my timestamp and the other information down here will change to give me details of what we're actually looking at.
