Using string concatenation
So, in the previous lesson, we took a look at the use of table aliases and column aliases, and we know that the column alias is used to customize the output of our query results. So we've got the ability to change the column names into something that's a little more user friendly. Similar to customizing the output results with aliases, we can also utilize String Concatenation to change the values that we are getting from our database. We might see examples of this where we need to return the names of the people stored in the database, and the names are stored separately. First name, last name, or separate fields, but in the output results, in any reports we generate, we may want to have those represented as the full name. So, Sequel allows us to do that through the use of string concatenation. So here we have some simple queries that will allow us to perform string concatenation.
