- Let's walk through the process of adding users into a database to get them permissions. Now, before I started, I created the database you see highlighted, "Research," and I did that in the usual way. It's just kind of an empty database. Just right click, New Database. So, now I've got Research up here and I also went over to active directory and I created a group named "Research," and I added a user into it, "Nor Savid," which is Ron Davis spelled backwards. I'm Ron Davis. We have created a Research database. We're going to let them go crazy, they're going to own the database and we want to be able to get them in. And when I say "Them," what I mean is the Research team comes and goes. So, what we want to do is we're going to allow our Windows administrators, our active directory administrators, when they add a user into the system they're just going to grab the user and dump them into the Research group, over an active directory, and that permission then will cascade on through and…
