The Send Mail task - SQL Server Tutorial
From the course: SQL Server Integration Services
The Send Mail task
- [Instructor] Now when this task finishes successfully, I want to send an email. For that, I'll add in the Send Mail Task. You can find it down in the Common group, I'll double click to add it in, and we'll move it into position. Then, I'll double click on the icon to open up the editor. On the mail page, there's a number of different configurations that you need to make. The first step is to fill in the details for the email account that you want to use to send the message. This will have to be created by your organization's network administrators to create an email account for Immigration Services to use. So I'm going to outline the general process here, but without an actual valid email account setup, the messages aren't actually going to send in this example. That'll cause this task to fail. But with that said, you'll choose to configure the SMTP connection for the email account. I'll use the dropdown menu, choose New Connection here. I'll just type in a dummy account here…
