Joining data tables
- [Instructor] Most SQL Server databases break data up across multiple related data tables. It's the configuration that makes relation databases relational. Adding data to a report that spans across tables is simplified using the data set graphical interface. I'm going to create a new report by starting from the portal, clicking on the new button, and choosing paginated report. That'll open up report builder, and I'm going to choose to create a new blank report. Then we can quickly set up a new data source and a data set. First I'll right click on data sources and choose to add a new data source. I'll call this one wide world importers. I'll embed this data source into the report, and I'll click the build button off here on the right. I'll type in my server name. I'm going to use Windows authentication and from the dropdown menu I'll choose the wide world importers database. Let's test the connection. That looks good, say okay. Say okay. And okay one more time to save the data source.…
