Format a report
- [Instructor] Just like with any page layout program you can modify the fonts, size, color, and position of any element in your report's design. Let's clean up the purchase orders report to make it more presentable. First I'll click on the button in the upper right hand corner of the reports icon where you see the three little dots. That'll bring up a context menu and one of the options is to open the report in Report Builder so we can edit it. Next I'm going to run the report so you can see the types of changes that I want to make to it. First off I need to adjust the columns widths a bit so that the date column fits. In fact, now that I look at it I actually don't need to see the times on this report, just the date that the order was placed is enough information. So we can simplify the formatting of our date data. Then I'd like to rename the column header so the text is clearer and we can realign them so they land on top of the data in the column below.
