The Excel connection manager

- Excel workbooks are everywhere in business, and integrations services allows you to easily bring tabular data stored in an Excel file into your projects. When you add a data flow task into your package diagram and then switch over to the data flow page, you can scroll down in the toolbox to find some connection options. Underneath other sources you'll find the Excel source, and inside of other destinations, you can find Excel destination. Both of these will use the same Excel connection manager. You can add one into your package or into the project to use in multiple packages. The process is basically the same. I'm going to demonstrate this by adding one into the package. By coming down here to the connection manager tab at the bottom of the screen, right clicking and choose new connection. From the list of available types, I'm going to choose the Excel type and press add. Then we'll browse out to the exercise files to find an Excel file that I've saved for you. Mine is on the…
