The goals of normalization include minimizing redundancy,…in other words, not storing the same data more than once.…There are obvious inefficiencies…of storing the exact same data twice,…and it makes it more difficult to update that data.…Normalization should simplify addition, deletion,…and modifications of data.…And normalization typically leads to…having multiple tables with defined relationships.…These relationships are where we get…the word, "relational" database.…
