Create temp tables and table variables: Designing Database Solutions for SQL Server 2016

SQL Server provides two methods of creating non-permanent tables. Temporary tables use an @ symbol in their name and exist while the user is logged on. Table Variables use an # symbol, and are removed as soon as a batch of commands completes.
