- [Instructor] So now we have SQL Server installed, we've got SQL Management Studio installed and we have a sample database to work with, we can now start to think about how we might want to configure the instance of SQL Server. Although we apply some configuration and option settings during the installation of the product, there are actually some properties that we set after the installation and these help to determine how the SQL instance will interact with and operate on the system on which you've got it installed. So let's go ahead and take a look at how we work with some of the properties for our SQL instance. Simply right-clicking on the SQL instance in our Object Explorer and choosing Properties opens up the server properties dialog box. So in the server properties dialog box, the first page that pops up is the General page.
