- [Instructor] Once you have all of your internal and external data organized, cleansed, and reconfigured into fact and dimension tables in the data warehouse, it's time to actually do something with that data. This brings us back to the concept of business intelligence. The purpose of business intelligence is to gain insight by analyzing raw data that can lead to a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The results of a business intelligence analysis are used to support operational decision making by reviewing past trends in the market, as well as predicting future outcomes. This allows decision makers within the enterprise, to be able to better position the company to take full advantage of shifts in customer behavior, efficiencies in manufacturing, or right-sizing the workforce.
