In this video Martin walks you through the basic installation of SQL Server using the default wizard.
- [Instructor] In this section, we're going…to talk about the basic installation of SQL Server 2016.…I've already loaded the DVD into the drive,…I'll double-click on it,…and then I'll run the setup application.…If you see the User Account Control pop up,…go ahead and click yes on that,…and that will open SQL Server Installation Center,…In the left-hand menu I'll click on installation,…and then I'll select the top item,…which says New SQL Server stand alone installation…or add features to an existing installation.…
When I click on that it'll open up…the SQL server 2016 setup.…On the left-hand side we get a list of all the steps…we're planning to go through on this wizard.…The top one I have is global rules,…and the bottom one is complete.…Right now we see in bold face, installation type,…because that is the step that I'm on.…So the first few steps ran automatically…with no input from me, and we'll see…as we go through this wizard some places you'll just…need to click next, other places you'll need to make…some significant decisions, and other steps…
