- [Narrator] The next tool we'll talk about, activity monitor, is launched from inside of Sequel Server Management Studio, so on the toolbar, I'm looking for a button that looks like a graph with one line going up and one line going down. If I hover over that button, it says activity monitor. So I'll click on that. At the top, we see some graphs for processor time, waiting task, database IO, and batch request per second. Below that is several accordion-style data panels. One for processes. If I click on that, it opens up and we see all of the running processes. Right now, Management Studio has made one connection to the master database, and one connection to tempdb. So I'm going to run a few queries, just to generate some activity for us to look at. So I'll open up databases, system databases, MSDB, I'll open up the views, the system views. And I'll take a few of these at random and just do a right click, select top 1,000 rows.
