- [Instructor] SPSS is designed to make your analytical life easy so you can just kick back, drink your coffee, and get valuable insight from your data. But sometimes keeping track of all the variations of SPSS feels a little bit more like this. Now, the reason for that is because SPSS differs in many dimensions. There are different versions of SPSS, like there are with any software, there are different releases, there are different licenses, and there are different interfaces, and that's to say nothing of the different operating systems and whether it's local or whether it's remote. Anyhow, there are a lot of different versions of SPSS and I want to explain some of this to help work through the confusion. First off, for versions, or version number in proper, version one of SPSS came out in 1968.
