- [Narrator] Before we dive into a lot of complex modeling results, let's review some important terms. Now, a word of caution. If you're not using SPSS Modeler, the same concepts will be present in whatever tool you use, but in some cases, the names might be slightly different. These are key concepts, however, so there's going to be some equivalent. And if the names are different, they should be only slightly different. So first, the notion of an antecedent. Ante- as prefix, of course, means before, but you want to be careful about taking too literally because we're not doing sequence analysis here. It really simply means if it's the code or product associated with the If or the consequent, which is the code or product that's associated with a Then. Keep in mind, for instance, that if you're looking at grocery store data, you might have pizza predicts beer as well as beer predicts pizza.
