- [Instructor] Some of the most exciting work in the entire data science world right now revolves around the use of what are called neural networks. And these are very, very complicated methods for taking input information, combining it in nonlinear fashions, through at least one, maybe many, many, many hidden layers where things are combined again and you get your output. The places where neural networks have been extraordinarily successful is in classifying photos and videos, and in the transcription of spoken words, and translation of text, and many other things that seem like miracles when they're working. Now, you can use neural networks in more common methods as well, say for instance you're trying to predict whether a person owns a pager or not.
