- [Instructor] To get started in working with SPSS I want to show you the windows that first come up when you open it. Now the first time you open SPSS you will get greeted by this welcome dialogue and what it shows you on the left are recent files, on the right it shows you some new developments in SPSS and gives you a couple of links for useful things. Now because this dialogue is the easiest way to access the sample data we're going to want to be able to use this again, but if you don't want to have it show up every time you have the bottom of clicking on the bottom-left where it says don't show this dialogue in the future and then on the bottom-right you can click close or quit it to make it go away. And then what you see is the rows and the columns of the SPSS data window. By default this is the window that shows up when you open the SPSS application.
