- [Instructor] As we've gone through this course, we've progressed from looking at one variable, a dichotomous yes/no variable, up to quantitative variables, to associations between two. And now we actually have an opportunity to look at associations between many variables. And in fact, if you're working in an applied setting, this approach, we're using many variables to predict one particular outcome, is probably both the most common and the most useful for your work 'cause it's going to give you the highest level of predictive ability. The method we're going to use right here is linear regression, or multiple regression. Where you use several variables, usually quantitative variables, that are measured on an interval or ratio continuous scale.
