Computing correlations

- [Instructor] You can learn a lot by looking at your variables one at a time, but things get really exciting when you start looking at the associations or the connections between your variables. You could start getting an idea of how things are connected, and the easiest way to do that is with correlations. Now, there's several different forms of correlations, and the most common one is the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient or r that's usually used for two continuous or quantitative variables on the interval or ratio of scale of measurement. Let me show you how this works by coming up to analyze, and then coming down to correlate. Now we have several options here. It's this first one that we're interested in, bivariate correlations. And I'm going to pick a range of quantitative variables, we'll start with the five personality variables that we have and go through the 12 Google Correlate search terms. I'm…
