Checking assumptions: Durbin-Watson - SPSS Tutorial
From the course: Machine Learning & AI Foundations: Linear Regression
Checking assumptions: Durbin-Watson
- [Narrator] One of our mathematical assumptions of multiple regression is having to worry about the possibility of auto correlation, or auto correlated errors. As it turns out, there's a specific test that is in SPSS just to check for this. Let's take a look. Analyze, Regression, Linear. Now, we're really not focused on building a model. We're just gonna make waste our dependent and restaurants our independent, and we're gonna focus only on Durbin-Watson. So if we go over to Statistics, we can check off Durbin-Watson. But let me show you something before we continue. If you click on the question mark here within the menu, you'll get online help that's only for this menu. That's prevents you from having to worry about what key word should I choose to get the right help. And sure enough, there's a little paragraph, granted a bit brief, on what the Durbin-Watson test is all about. So that's the most efficient way of requesting help. So we'll click on Continue, and click on OK. And it's…
