Automatic linear modeling
- [Instructor] Within the last few years, SPSS has added a new kind of regression to the SPSS Statistics interface. It's called automatic linear modeling. Let's take a look. We're gonna use the Auto Imports data set for this demo. This is a large, complex data set. There's a lot going on, including a lot of categorical variables, so remember if you're gonna use the traditional regression menu and you've got all these categorical variables, you're gonna have to dummy-code them. One of the advantages of automatic linear modeling, there it is at the very top there, is that this is gonna dummy-code for you. I'm gonna go ahead and scroll down, and I'm gonna remove price from the predictors, and make that a target. Now, as a brief aside, in the variable view where you do the variable declarations, if you had declared price as having the target role, you actually could click on predefined roles up here and make that automatic. So, SPSS is really trying to go out of their way to make this as…
