- [Instructor] Let's go over a few of the assumptions…for the repeated measures Anova.…As always, we want one dependent variable,…that is measured at a continuous level.…Second, we want one independent variable…with three or more levels.…This independent variable is often referred to…as a within subjects factor.…The factor implies independent variable.…The within subjects means all subjects were measured…on the same dependent variable…across all of the treatments, or levels.…Now that we have the design straight,…we can look at the third assumption.…
As usual, there should be no significant outliers…in any level.…We'll use the box plots again to figure this out.…Fourth, a dependent variable should have…a normal distribution…for each level of the within subjects factor.…The Anova is robust to violations for this assumption,…but we'll check it anyway,…using Shapiro-Wilk test for normality.…Remember, that with a moderate or large sample size…the test may still yield accurate results…even if the normality assumption is violated,…
