- [Instructor] While the modeling environment in SOLIDWORKS xDesign is different and newer in many ways, assembly still have some of the things that you're looking for. So in this example, in our physical product, we've dropped in some other physical products that have been created before and throughout the course. As you look down below, you can see that we still have the linear and circular component pattern, which is also available in the Feature menu. We have this option to make a component, replace a component, create symmetry in a mate, copy a part with mates, mirror, and create external references. What you don't see here, though, interestingly enough, is the ability to use mates. You see Copy With Mates, but you don't see a mate symbol. So most of these are pretty easy to walk through. If you want to insert a new component, you simply insert it, or you go over to your 3DSpace and just drag and drop it in. You can then click on the icon here to either open or insert, I chose…
