Working with ellipses and conics
- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to be looking at creating ellipses, conics, and parabolas. To get started, let's go over here and click on the Sketch toolbar, and then come over here to the ellipse drop-down. Notice we have a regular ellipse, we have a partial ellipse, a parabola, as well as a conic. So let's go ahead and start with the ellipse. So you want to pretty much start right where you want the center of that ellipse to be, drag out your major radius, and then again, your minor radius. So you can define that by just kind of dragging it around. Once you've got the shape you're looking for, go ahead and just click and now you've got that shape. Now you can click on the endpoints here to kind of move things around and rotate them. Same thing over here, you can adjust it on the fly. And I would recommend adding something like a center line over here. So I grab a center line and go from this point over here to that point, and that'll allow you to easily define what angle…
