- [Instructor] Hi, I'm Gabriel Corbett and welcome to Solidworks SimulationXpress. Solidworks is the world leader in 3D solid modeling software used for product design and development. And the software has a full suite of design, modeling and simulation tools. SimulationXpress is a simple to use FEA simulation tool used to analyze stress, deformation and factor of safety. It's built into Solidworks. It's quick and easy to use and it's only a mouse click away.
In this course we'll look at the methods and tools for running simple simulations on parts and how to use this tool to refine your design, to save weight and optimize strength. We'll start with basic fixtures, loads and materials, and then explore some common problems in the simple steps to get great results from the software. Next we'll look at taking assemblies and multi-body parts and turning them into single parts that we can then analyze in the software. We will then learn how to interpret the results of stress, deformation and factor of safety plots.
And that's just the beginning. We will explore the great report tool built into SimulationXpress and the output options for eDrawings. Finally we'll cover some model preparation tools to assist in setting up a simulation. Now let's get started with Solidworks SimulationXpress.
