Using the exercise files

- [Narrator] If you're a Premium member of the library, you have the access to the exercise files used throughout this course. Go ahead and download those files to your desktop or anywhere you see fit, go ahead and open up that folder. Inside there, you'll see the corresponding chapter folders as well as the folder for templates. These are the templates that I've used throughout the course; you're welcome to use these if you'd like or you can use your own. It doesn't really matter. You can see here I've got the individual files for most of the individual videos inside of the course as well as a finished version of the file; most time, there's going to be _FiN designating; it is the finished version of that file for that movie. If you go over to chapter two, you can see we have the same thing here. Some of the files won't have a finished version. That's because you only need the starting file. I also want to point out that SolidWorks is a user-configurable environment, so your installation of SolidWorks might look slightly different from mine; you might have slightly different toolbars; some of the toolbars might be already turned on; some might be turned off; that is because it's configured by you. If you don't see exactly what I have on my screen, make sure you turn on the corresponding toolbars or turn off (mumbles) that you might have turned on your screen. Anyways, it's a user-configurable environment and it should be fairly easy to follow along with the exercise files provided throughout the course. If you're a monthly member or annual member of lynda.com, you don't have access to the exercise files, but you can follow along from Scratch or use your own assets. Now, let's get started. If you don't see a finished version of the file that's because you probably only need the starting file for that exercise. I also do want to point out that SolidWorks is a user-configurable environment, so when you open it up, it's not going to look exactly the same as my screen. The toolbars can move around and you can set it up however you want, so definitely make sure that you configure environment similar (mumbles) I have setup in there and for some reason, if something opens up or a box pops up... If for some reason, if a dialog box pops up or ask you a question, more than likely that's going to be because you have installed it slightly different than I have and maybe you're asking... And the software may be asking you for a template or something like that, but that is very common inside the SolidWorks to have things... But that is very common inside the SolidWorks to have things slightly different, but more than likely, the workflow will be very similar.
