Using the Toolbox
- The Solid Works Toolbox is a library of over a million different fasteners, pieces of hardware, and so many more things that we can bring into our assembly. The first thing I need to do is go ahead and click on file, make assembly from part, click on OK, and start a new assembly. Now, go over here to library tab, and I can see here I've got toolbox, and if you don't have it added in, go ahead and do that right now, so click on add-in now, and as soon as you open that up, I have all these different standards I can choose from. I'm going to choose ANSI inch, and go ahead and click on bolts and screws but you can see here these are all the different types of things we can bring into our assembly, so bearings, bolts and screws, keys, nuts, o-rings, pins, structural members, all kinds of things. So, click on bolts and screws. Down at the bottom you're going to see socket head screws, and I'm going to click on this one here called socked head screw. Drag that into my assembly, and as soon…
